Lighthouse Man I'm All At Sea
We live in strange times.
Yesterday I woke up to the news that not one, but two ships had gone aground along the beach in what were very mild conditions. Occasionally in extreme weather, say once every ten years, this might happen, but yesterday was quite bizarre.
Perhaps the skipper was holding the map up side down, and simply passed on the wrong side of the lighthouse?

Oh my! I suppose he's in danger of not being a skipper much longer?
Your image is fantastic. The minute I saw it in the portal I had this romantic idea of "shipwreck!" Really nice capture, especially in that light. Beautiful.

Superb capture and composition..
Hope there were no casualties..
Thanks!
The latest news is that the six crew were all asleep at the time, but all were able to reach shore safely.
Great capture. I think those skippers might be in a spot of trouble in more than one way.
A beautiful and ominous image. Ever since childhood, I found "ships in trouble" stories disturbing. Perhaps it's inherited memory from my Danish seafaring ancestors.
Lovely light and composition. Reminds me of a Turner painting.
What I love about daily photography is the way little surprises enter our day and reward us with enduring images.
An excellent picture for colour, lighting and composition.
Whatever it was, it makes the most beautiful photograph. I think that in all of the Daily Photos, yours today would have to win first place, Peter. The atmosphere looks so eerie. If I were an artist, which I'm not, I would paint that, from your photograph.
His tragedy made of a superb shot.
It is a superb shot. I live on the island where the Royal National Lifeboat Institution was founded.
This would also make a great painting
What a great image! Cheers...
Good news photo.
