A Photo Every Day from the Sunshine Coast - Australia

A message.

Once upon a time if we wanted to send a message we grabbed a pigeon from our roof top loft and sent it on its merry way.   Now we have a different sort of pigeon, but it's just as messy.

Back on the beach

When the jetlag clears, perhaps normal transmission will resume, but for now we're just happy to be safely back with sand between our toes once more.

The queue

There are a couple of times a day when it appears that marching in single file is the norm, as everyone wants to get their feet just a little bit wet.

Homeward Bound

After many months away we have made the first steps in a homeward direction.  This fellow will be there before us though.

Pixie?

Do you ever look at footprints in the sand and imagine what sort of shoes would fit them?

RED

This month's theme Day theme is "Red", a colour synonymous with danger, and although perhaps the only danger associated with this photograph would be if one were to have a nasty fall from one.

Curiously and quite coincidentally because this photo was taken at Wurtulla on the Sunshine Coast, the colours of the bikes make it all very reminiscent of China, a country know for being "Red".

Trolleys

It seems that they are called something different in each part of the world where they can be found.  Here they are shopping trolleys.

Triptych

I do like playing around shop fronts, finding my photos are out of focus and calling it art.

Cheeky!

Perhaps the Sunshine Coast's greatest rival for tourist dollars (if you don't count Bali) is the Gold Coast, barely 150 kilometres to our south.    Here it is advertising on our turf, hoping we'll all pack up our zimmer frames and join them!

Plug and Play

The take up rate for electric cars is not very high in Australia, but some are ahead of the game, and while shopping centres offer free fuel, why not?

Fresh Daily

Some may have noticed that this blog has not been Fresh and Daily for some time - a situation I hope to remedy in the not too distant future. In the meantime, perhaps a blackboard can be a reminder that things can change!

This photo is my interpretation of this month's City Daily Photo theme day "Black"... more can be found at this link.

Macaranga

Not a cult dance, the Macaranga is a tropical tree, the seed pod of which is a sticky ball which ... well it just sticks to your feet.  It's better than standing on a prickle, but not by much.
