Iron Bars

Iron Bars separate the parked cars from the water play area at King's Beach, and what pretty bars they are too!

Eight oars, One rowlock

I never understand quite why the rowlock is square in profile and the oars are round.

Round pegs into square holes!

Colours

I'm not sure about the colours, they are already tending to show their age.   The sky just keeps trucking on however......

No sign of life

One of the curious things about these beach side apartments, is that there is rarely any visible sign of habitation.  They could well be large expensive pieces of sculpture, except at the peak holiday times.

Odd

Odd late afternoon lighting and an even odder angle combine to make a photograph that doesn't tell too much about the building, but I like it anyway.

Straight Lines

I suspect that the architects in Mooloolaba are so poorly paid they can't afford a rule to make straight lines.

Wavy is good!

Sunny again!

Collecting my mail at the post office in Mooloolaba, I looked left and thought everything looked so amazingly fresh.
It's not surprising considering the hosing it's had of late.

Dry, dry, dry.... please!

A poor old pelican just can't seem to get the washing dry.

Marina Office

I'm not sure what those buoys mean, nor how the boats are sailing without keels, but the marina office wall is OK by me.

Welcome Kiddies!

We welcome customers with open arms, as long as they have more than two wheels.

Graffiti

I'm not sure if I 'get' the need to tag everything in site, actually I am sure and I don't, but if ever there was a place where it was an acceptable practice it would be a skate park.

It seems such a shame that the paint was necessary in the first place, but also that it wasn't applied to one of council's unloved community buildings!

Maintenance

Take a nice modern building, don't paint it for a decade or so, then simply bung on a couple of unpainted PVC downpipes.  Nice!

I wonder how this building would look if the gang that gets paid to paint out the graffiti on the skate parks were paid to clean the gallery?

It might work.

In the expensive marine stores one can buy an expensive plastic owl to sit on one's boat to keep the seagull's away.

I'm not sure if they are worth the money.

Watching TV

On a normal sunny day, this path would be crowded with joggers, baby strollers, bikes and scooters.

I guess they are snugged up at home watching TV.

Wet Day Food

On a cool wet day, there's nothing like a luke warm pie or a wrinkled sausage roll to warm the cockles of one's heart, perhaps washed down with a cold fizzy drink.

I left the odd colour balance, because the actual colour is a truly awful beige, much more accurately reflecting the value of the food!

Rain

Then it rains, a sort of remorseless shower, more than a drizzle, enough to get wet just taking a photograph.  Enough to hide the mountains beyond, or did I imagine them?

Mt Coolum Waterfall

Some may have heard, it's been wet round here of late.

So wet that occasionally that Mt Coolum, which is just a big rock really, springs a waterfall.   I'm not sure how that happens, but it does.

Cobbles

Today's city daily photo theme is cobbles, which makes it hard because we don't have any, but we do have these imitation things stamped in concrete and painted bright red to give a bit of life to the paving at King's Beach.

I sort of like them, specially when the cracks fill with the fine sand from the beach.
