Another Sign!
I must admit to being perplexed at this one for a minute.
Am I the only one to wonder what lurks inside that will curtail my day? Is the building behind really a departure lounge of some sort?

The view north
If you are swimming at Moffat Beach and you look north, this is what you see.
But really, just walk a few hundred metres around that point to the patrolled area at Dicky Beach to swim. You will be far safer there!

The fisherman returns
It must be embarrassing to leave on your fishing trip before daylight, only to return while a surfing contest heat is in full swing.
A manly run through the shore break will surely impress the crowd!

Contest!
A week ago at Moffat Beach, the Ma and Pa Bendall Surf Contest was held for the forty-eighth time.
I should have mentioned it then, but I was rather engrossed in beach combing at the time.

Dump Birds
The Ibis are particularly difficult to photograph in strong light, as their bald black heads hide their eyes and any other detail.
They are in plague proportions where ever feed is plentiful, but there is a control programme in place in the Moffat Beach bushland, and eggs are often rendered infertile or removed from nests to prevent over stocking of the area.

Looking Back
It occurred to me this morning that I've taken many shots of Tooway Creek from the bridge (that smudge of beige centre left of frame) but none looking back in the other direction.
So here I stand at low tide, back to the ocean no more than a few metres away.

Well Duh!
Tooway Lake is a popular although apparently potentially terribly dangerous swimming spot for families with small children.
I wonder if there is any water anywhere on earth where there is no "Potential for Marine Creatures".

The ocean's edge
Even the tiny little waves on a calm day are enough to wear down the stones, given enough time.
For the beach it must be like living with a three year old in perpetuity.

Clearer perception
Another of my favourite things; the way the little waves at the edge of a giant ocean seem to chase their own shadows.

Good Friday
Today on the Christian Calendar is Good Friday, the day when Christ's crucifixion is commemorated. It's a day for contemplation, or naval gazing perhaps.
No matter what your religious beliefs, it's probably worth stopping for a minute and just watching some water as it gurgles over the clean sand of a beach. Who knows what you may see in the refractions.

Coffee, tea or bonox?
I never know what to think when I see this illumination in the sandwich shop window.
On this particular balmy evening, I rather felt like something that wasn't steaming from the top of a cup, and if I did feel like a nice cup of coffee, would I bother with the pre-stewed product from within, or use the neon as incentive to go and find a "proper" coffee somewhere else?
Perhaps I think too much.

Bored.
Looking into the surf shop at night, everything seems so flat and devoid of excitement. Rows of boards snoozing away without so much as a tele to look at.
In the daylight it's a different story, even the grey carpet seems to spring to life, but this is a night shot.

Reddish
Tomorrow night the moon will be in eclipse and will appear red apparently. A "red moon" is a reasonably rare occurrence, but if one is partial to Mexican cuisine, red decor is available every night.
A little too red to be relaxing I think, but the take-away is good!

Another Sunrise at the end of our street.
Another photo to add to the ever growing collection of shots of Tooway Lake. At the moment, recent rains have breached the dunes. so there is a rather serpentine connection to the ocean, but it will be gone tomorrow.

Same Tree, just a bit earlier this time.
Did I mention yesterday how the rising sun's rays sparkle through those dew drops if you are in the right place at the right time? If I had been, I would have photographed them!

Dewdrops on roses and whiskers on kittens....
How about dew drops on whiskers?
I love the way the dew just hangs on the ends of the casuarina bracts (are they bracts or leaves?) early in the morning.

Throwing in the towel.
There is no way of knowing if the towel was left on the letterbox by someone on their way home from the beach, by someone who thought it would be a handy place to retrieve it first thing in the morning, or as permanent decoration.
Since it was gone this afternoon, I guess it wasn't the latter, but it made for a lovely piece of ad hoc street art in the meantime.

Off-leash Area
Dogs are allowed off-leash here before eight in the morning and after four in the afternoon.
I guess its owner just got tired of pulling it along the sand... kayaking isn't as much fun as the coloured brochures suggest!

Insomnia!
Back in my favourite sunrise spot for the moment, Moffat Beach.
The residents in the apartments on the headland are not awake and making their morning cups of tea with their lights blazing, but the morning sun is reflecting from it's position just below the horizon.
Soon it will be well above, burning off the low clouds to bring with it another clear blue sky.

There are triangles everywhere in this photograph, I counted more than thirty before I started to go crazy, and crazy is not a good look on Theme Day!
