Diminishing Returns

I sometimes wonder why people don't actually visit the building site before finalising colours. This poor building is pleasant enough, but is finished in a colour which is neither blue nor green, and doesn't seem to want to be anywhere near the lush rainforest that is its backdrop.

I remember these sort of colours in Queensland. At Palm Cove, just north of Cairns, there is a 'village' and the whole place was painting in mixes of similar colours. Actually I liked it - happy colours it seemed to me although I do take your point about blending in with the rainforest. In Cairns, we weren't that close.

I know I shouldn't, but I actually love these colors. They remind me of the little houses in the Caribbean that stand out like weird flowers against all the green foliage.

I love this image. The colours and the textures really jump out at you.
