Another Car Park

My first visit to the new Sunshine Coast University Hospital carpark, left me with a few good impressions.

As these things go, it's not expensive at five dollars for the first hour and a bit, at least at the time I was there, finding a spot was easy, and for those who are used to large hospitals in the middle of urban areas, this one is a kilometre or so from the beach and is bound on the opposite side by dense bushland.  There's not much to add about population density on the coast!

Busy 2

It's not the first time I've published a photo from the Home Centre in Birtinya, but it is the first time the monster carpark have been anything near full.

Perhaps it's the new big box hardware store that's brought the crowds, or perhaps they were just out and about before the promised storm.   In any case, the landscaping (well the trees at least) are starting to make their presence felt.  In a year or two it won't be a forest, but there'll be shade for the early birds.

Busy

The Sunshine Coast University Hosptial is open for business and it looks the part too - all hospital like and well it looks busy enough even if it's all squeaky clean and happy inside.   I wonder though at the need for a big red "Emergency" pole just a few tens of metres from the hospital.   What sort of emergency would require pressing the button just there, as opposed to knocking on the front door?

Perhaps someone who knows about these things will enlighten me.

.Thy neighbour's surfboard

Our neighbour has a neat little business making beach showers using old surfboards as a backing, so we never know what is going to be peeking over the fence.

Spider Lily

Today I had little more to do that to wonder why Hymenocallis littoralis is called "the spider lily".   I've counted the legs, and they don't match.

Perhaps the spiders in its native Latin America are actually insects.

"Play"

Today's theme day topic wasn't even a challenge.   This is why we live where we live, the smile on our grandchildren's faces when they make it all the way in to shore!
