This month's theme day is one of introspection: what has changed since the early days of this blog, how has it impacted on my photography?
Given that the photo below appeared sometime in March 2008, it's pretty easy to see that there is a common theme that keeps bobbing up. When one lives in a town with a longer coastline than that of say Belgium, perhaps one can be forgiven for gravitating back to the place that gives it its name.
I have dabbled over the years in poor attempts at social commentary, and recording the more mundane aspects of the town, but when all is said and done, people live here and visit for one principal reason: the lifestyle, and I think that is the greatest realisation that I have had over the years. We are all here to have a good time, so take some photographs and get on with it. If some of them bring a little warmth into a cold northern hemisphere winter, well so much the better!

Gorgeous wave! and you captured it well :)
Fab- I think us CDPers can only take what is out there and when it's lovely like this, all well and good!
I for one forgive you. I seem to have a thing for going back for a similar photo myself!
Marvellous.
You work with what you've got and you're so lucky in what you've got.
I reckon architecture gets a pretty good run in your blog too.
I love the green of the sea in the top shot. I think the colours contrast harmoniously.
You live in a fabulous part of the world, sigh. I love both photos and would be returning to the same exact subjects myself!
The top photo is ALIVE whereas the bottom is more static. I would love to live where you do!
Your beach and see photos have always been wonderful, Peter. I do really see a difference in these two tho. The clarity, detail, framing - that top photo makes me want to jump in the water right this minute. And you are right, it brings us northern hemisphere folk a bit of warmth. Rain in the south of France today and I'm wondering if the truffle Fete will be cancelled!
