And in Florida the white ibises are very common. They hang out in packs and aren't wary about humans. They are silent and don't cause any problems, so they are well loved. There were black ibises called hadedas in South Africa, where my daughter lived until two years ago, and they were nasty, noisy, messy birds, a real nuisance and completely different from the white American ibises. I don't know what yours are like.
