Where we shop

Honestly, it's hard to come to terms with the lack of people sometimes.   We have friends from Asia who feel unsettled walking our streets because they are spookily deserted to them.   How would you like to own a business here, where palm trees outnumber customers?

It's different in holiday times of course, and it's pleasant as a customer, but hopefully as our population grows it will bring more people and therefore more security for the traders.

Right now, living in the land of ice and snow while waiting patiently for spring to emerge, I wouldn't mind one bit living in this scene. Beautifully shaped palm trees against that blue sky!

The palm trees are a nice touch.

I'm reminded of a pedestrian street mall downtown here- during the day there are people around, because all around are government offices. But once six o'clock happens, or on the weekends, the street is like a ghost town.
