No Marco Polo -
City Daily Photo Theme Day - Water's Edge

What, one may well ask, is Marco Polo?   It's a mind-numbingly inexplicable game which involves one person in a pool calling out "Marco" and another responding "Polo".

That's it.

Nothing more.

But it is has been happening for decades and is relentless and the best response I can possibly give by way of explanation by this very sign was written by a journalist - Susan Hocking.  I would like this photograph to be seen in the manner in which her article was intended!

Oh my the article by Susan Hocking made me laugh out loud, especially the last paragraph, hilarious, let's face it when a sign like that goes up you just HAVE to disobey just because it is so silly, how could you possible stop yourself. My first laugh for the morning, thanks Peter.

And here I was, thinking that Marco Polo is a very Chennai kids' pastime. The little things that connect us!

Never heard of Marco Polo even tho I lived in Oz for six years - perhaps I should be glad! Love the photo. Apologies for not doing the Linky thing for Monte Carlo DP but it's not working for me. I wrote Julie. And again thanks for everything for CDP Peter x

I loved the article and this brought me back to faraway childhood days (I guess Hawaii enjoyed Marco Polo as much as Australia did!). An incredibly silly ban indeed. Love this uplifting theme day post and pic!

I've never heard of this game! Have I been living in a parallel universe or something?

Haha! Hilarious!! I wonder how long it'll be before someone decides to legislate against it? Or provide 'recovering Marco Polo addict' support centres?!?!
