Incoming!

Another plane load of tourists on final landing approach, bringing with them all the resources that keep the accomodation houses, supermarkets and all of us really in the manner to which we would like to become accustomed.   None of us like the holiday crowds of course, but we all benefit from the business they bring and the infrastructure that they pay for.

That sea is a bit blustery at the moment.

Interesting that the locals in all coastal areas decry the tourist but lap up the dollar.

I react similarly when I wander down to the old opry and watch the throng with their cameras clicking away.

Funny you should mention tourists winging your way. One of our Manx boy is heading for New Zealand and taking in a little of Australia too. Used to that thrashing sea, but your weather is so much warmer than ours.

I've been to Brisbane in 1992 but the waves weren't that big but it looks like good surfing!

Great depth of field. The high-rise looks vulnerable to rising ocean levels.

I see that the Sunshine Coast now has some high-rise buildings. I hope it is not going to turn into an ugly city like the dreaded Gold Coast.

Hi Bill, the problem is that people want to come and holiday here!

Of course we'd selfishly prefer they didn't, so that we could enjoy the place in comfort all year round, and the development work would cease too.

Sadly, I think they'll keep coming. They'll stay in those high rise buildings, and they'll keep telling us how the place isn't like it was!

Cheers!
