Did it succumb to the disease which was affecting some others along the coast?
Such a shame, but they do leave a lot of mess lying around, especially in a park.
We used to have a whole 5 acre paddock of them when we lived in the Northern Territory. Had to get the fire brigade to give us a permit to burn it off every year, and they always grew back again.
