The Butcherbird
Wikipedia says that Butcherbirds are magpie-like birds in the genus Cracticus. They are native to Australasia.
This little guy was quite happy for me to sneak up on him, no doubt content in the knowledge that there was an entire thicket between he and me, but he may well have been very tame as his type becomes with a little judicious hand feeding of an afternoon!
I suspect that those who are heavily into birding will have a lot to criticise in this pic, but I like it, and that's all that matters!
