In days of old.

In days of old, plants were not a high priority in garden landscape.   There was an adage that went "if you can't mow it, don't grow it".

Often a garden would consist of plants which had seen better days as pot plants indoors, and were simply stuck in the ground to see if they'd survive.

  1. If you can't mow it, don't mow it ? Your commentary made me burst in laughter. I've seen such gardens in my neighborhood on the Central coast. How disconcerting in a country where a lot grows very easily! I remember throwing away a tomato in my garden and collecting new ones a few months later from the tomato plant that grew there. I couldn't believe my eyes!
