Sleep out.
These little enclosed verandahs were called "sleep outs" in the days before air conditioning. On a hot evening, one could move one's bedding out to the cool of the verandah and sleep "out" there.
In other places they were called "sleeping verandahs", but these days one would have trouble finding a spot for the fifty inch LCD screen.
