The observant will know that it's not a Christmas Tree at all, just a Norfolk Island Pine on the beach at Dicky, and the tents aren't actually holiday crowds, but competitors in the surf carnival held two weeks ago. If I'd taken a similar shot today, the tents would have been replaced by umbrellas.
Temperatures in the mid thirties, UV index hovering around thirteen (gasp!) and perfect weather make for monster crowds!
