Norfolks

At Moffat Beach, the apartment is called Norfolks, and it didn't take very long for me to work out why.   For those unfamiliar with the trees they are Norfolk Pines (Araucaria heterophylla ) not a true pine, but endemic to Norfolk Island.

In the 1950's they were brought to Australia and became a part of our coastal vernacular planting after what must have been a marathon effort by someone to ensure that every coastal town got its fair share.
