Bird of Paradise



Today's date is 08/08/08, so I couldn't resist posting at 08:08!

The Bird of Paradise flower (Strelitzia reginae) is actually a native of South Africa and derives it's common name because of a supposed resemblance to the New Guinea bird of Paradise.

I suspect that makes this photograph a truly international one!

    That's so funny! 08.08 on 08.08.08 and a beautiful photo to go with it. Sometimes I think people just look at the photos and don't read the text. It's a shame really, when you think about all the effort that goes into our posts!!
