Norfolk Island Pines are natives of Norfolk Island, but some time a hundred years ago or more, someone decided that they'd make a perfect Australian beach tree, and so they became part of our beach vernacular.
They are quite large, iconic trees, but pale into insignificance beside some of our man-made icons!

I love Norfolks. We have several beach suburbs down here where the roads are paved with Norfolk Island pines. I remember as children we would use the dropped foliage as swords in play fencing! Such fun. I know this building too, well I've seen it anyway.
