Verandahs
The verandah is an integral part of the Australian way of life, even if it's just a balcony, it's somewhere to have a barbecue, hang the towels, and just enjoy being in the fresh air.
My sister called me from the Sunshine Coast yesterday. She wants to buy a put-put boat! Not such a bad thing if you live ON the actual coast - not great if you live on top of a mountain!
That's something we don't see much of anymore in new housing estates in Victoria - verandahs - nor eaves. They don't know what they are missing!
Lovely patterns on this, and your other shots. The older I get, the more uncomfortable I am with man-made heights. The second or third floor is enough for me.
Thanks for your comments, I appreciate the time you've taken, and apologise if I seem never to reply! Due to a serious amount of spam turning up I've had to turn off "Anonymous" comments.

Ha! It's the same deal in Sweden. Everyone wants a balcony!
